Estoril Sol Digital was distinguished, last October 21st, by Vixio Regulatory Intelligence, in the 5th edition of the Global Regulatory Awards 2021, with the ‘Anti-Money Laundering Team of the Year’ award. The award ceremony took place, in person, at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, in London.
Along with ESD, Greentube, iSoftBet and San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission were finalists. In addition to winning the ‘Anti-Money Laundering Team of the Year’ category, ESD was also one of the finalists in the categories ‘Outstanding Contribution for Safer Gambling’, ‘In-House Counsel / Legal Team of the Year’ and ‘Safer Gambling Campaign of the Year’.
The ‘Anti-Money Laundering Team of the Year’ Award distinguishes the performance of the legal teams and their compliance with high standards, compliance regulations and responsible gaming, in terms of integrity, financial transparency and money laundering in the markets where they operate, in full compliance with European AML directives.
These awards are one of the most prestigious and internationally recognized in the online gaming industry, in legal and regulatory sphere.

At the same time, Ana Clara Heeren, responsible for ESD’s Legal, Anti-Fraud and Compliance Department, adds that this distinction represents “fair recognition for the work of excellence developed in an increasingly demanding and challenging regulatory context for the industry”.
